Research

STRATUS is active in various educational research projects that examine the efficacy and validity of simulation as a teaching and assessment methodology. Simulation is still a relatively new innovation in medical education and as leaders in the field, it is our responsibility to help in understanding how healthcare trainees learn, how we can measure competency and how simulation can improve learning curves for the many complex and dynamic aspects of patient care. Our educational research projects include validation of simulation based curricula, development of valid and reliable assessment instruments, and systems analysis of impact on multidisciplinary team training using crisis resource management.

We encourage all users of STRATUS to engage in the research process while developing their courses to meet their training demands.
